Naenius was founded in May 2002 and as original purpose it was meant to become a Portal for the Dutch Gothic community. It never reached this purpose and soon became a playground for all sorts of development projects, tests and as a hosting spot for several online games and forums, both in Dutch and English.
Many of these sites have left since then and I decided to give this site a clear purpose; to promote my work and hobbies.

And it is like this that we have reached this stage after 5 or 6 times changing the looks. But I intend to make this a place to return to and update it frequently with all sorts of topics on development and roleplaying games.

Have fun on this site and I hope you can learn one or two things from my past experiences!

The Name Naenius
The name of this domain took three days to blossom into existence.

My original intent was to adopt a name which would fit it’s original intended purpose (see the history) but since many good names were already taken I decided to go more towards the Latin language. As it’s appeal was not lost on me.

Soon I would find a wild-life site which had a collection of Moths on it’s pages and there it was where my eye fell on the Naenia Typica, a nocturnal moth which is commonly called Gothic in English.
